Building with Nature Accreditation
Our arboriculturist, landscape architect and director, Karen Lacey, has recently been undertaking training to become a Building with Nature approved assessor.
Who are Building with Nature?
Building with Nature is a not-for-profit charity who provide a benchmark for green infrastructure through a set of rigorous design standards which are at the heart of the development process, from inception through to completion.
The Building with Nature standards are underpinned by evidence and good practice with the framework being tested and refined on projects across the UK.
Through application of these standards, projects can achieve a Building with Nature accreditation. This ensures that development is responsive to climate change, addresses ecological emergencies and makes green spaces accessible and of the best quality for all.
The principal aim of the process is to achieve quality place-making, as a setting for healthy communities, which combines the provision of green spaces for people and wildlife equally.
WWA will be providing Building with Nature accreditation services for projects in the very near future. Keep your eyes open for an update and if you are interested in finding out more about Building with Nature and what it can do for your development project, please click here.
