Wynne-Williams Associates welcomes Writtle students

In October we welcomed a group of landscape and garden design degree students from Writtle University College, Chelmsford, to the offices of Wynne-Williams Associates. We have a close relationship with the College and we appreciate these opportunities to meet new landscape designers and to contribute to their course. (A quick look at our People page will show that most of our team have either trained or lectured at the College and Gill Wynne-Williams chairs the College’s Landscape Institute Accreditation Committee.) Tender won for three new schools and community sports facilities at Chelmsford

Wynne-Williams Associates are part of the Kier Construction team who have won the contract for a major school and community development at Beaulieu Park in Chelmsford.
The vision for Beaulieu Park is

“to create a vibrant new community, rich with inspirational architecture, attractive landscapes, useful amenities and more. To create a beautiful place that people will love for generations to come.”

Housing Design Awards 2016 – Supreme Winner for The Malings, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

The Malings housing scheme next to the Ouseburn river in Newcastle-upon-Tyne has been named the Supreme Winner in the 2016 Housing Design Awards.

Wynne-Williams Associates contributed planting and arboricultural design to the scheme. A feature of the planting and gardens around the site is a sustainable drainage scheme using terraced gardens and a feature rain garden next to the river.

Congratulations to Ash Sakula architects who led the overall design of the housing scheme on winning this prestigious award.

New Landscape Designer joins Wynne-Williams Associates

We are pleased to welcome Bobby Browne to our team of landscape architects and designers. Bobby studied Landscape Architecture after working as a geography teacher in the UK and abroad and is now combining his work with continuing to study for an MA in Landscape Architecture and Garden Design at Writtle University College. Big Local green space initiative for Barking and Dagenham

Wynne-Williams Associates have submitted a green space action plan for the North Meets South Big Local scheme for Chadwell Heath and Marks Gate in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

Big Local is a Lottery funded initiative to provide finance and support for 150 community development schemes throughout England, with each scheme receiving at least £1m of lottery funding over the next ten years. We were particularly pleased to be selected by a partnership of local people to support the North Meets South project because they have ownership of the initiatives that will benefit their neighbourhood. Wynne-Williams Associates appointed landscape architects for Bury St Edmunds regeneration project

Wynne-Williams Associates have been appointed to a project team led by Pick Everard to develop a masterplan for the Western Way site in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk project management alternatives.

The site has traditionally been used for car parking and warehousing but following the opening of new council offices on the site we are working on a masterplan for regeneration as a mixed-use development. Read more
