Alfreton Park ‘Deer Shed Project’ Fundraiser
We have been working alongside Henry Brothers Construction Company to provide new £13.2million facilities, including building and grounds, for Alfreton Park Community Special School.
Henry Brothers recently kickstarted a fundraising appeal for ‘The Deer Shed Project’, converting a derelict building on the current school site into a community café and shop, offering pupils work experience, and giving the local community a place to visit.
In September Henry Brothers organised a cricket match at the Alfreton Cricket Club, raising £5000 towards the Deer Shed Project, of which we were proud to be one of the sponsors.
Henry Brothers Business development manager, Claire Swaine said:
“Alfreton Park Community Special School places a huge emphasis on developing life skills that are crucial for pupils after they leave school and we were very pleased to organise and take part in a cricket match against Alfreton Cricket Club to help kickstart the Deer Shed appeal, which will provide a place where pupils can gain valuable work experience, build confidence and learn skills which they can take to their lives beyond the school.
As a company, Henry Brothers is committed to supporting community activities and we are delighted to have helped get the fund off to a flying start. We’d like to thank our sub-contractors and others involved in the construction of the new Alfreton Park Community Special School for their generosity, and Alfreton Cricket Club for hosting the event and going into bat against our team”
We have enjoyed working with this team to produce landscape designs for the new site including a central courtyard and sensory garden, as well as designs for the current site which will be converted to a new public playground.
