Barton House and Hickling House open to students following University of East Anglia Blackdale development
We have been delighted to see students moving into two fabulous new accommodation blocks at the University of East Anglia. Barton House and Hickling House are the result of a large scale development on the University campus called Blackdale and Wynne-Williams Associates were the landscape architects on the project team.
There is more information on the development phase of the project on our UEA Blackdale project page. The completion of the project in time for the new student year has been a great achievement and although timescales were tight, schedules and budgets have been met and the quality of the end result is a tribute to the work of all those involved.
Martin Lovatt, Senior Estates Project Manager for the UEA has described the development as “The best project I have ever worked on. Truly collaborative working.”
Landscaping has been a fundamental part of the development, in supporting the planning process as well as in the look and feel of the accommodation and its contribution to the campus. Seeing the realisation of the design we envisaged has been hugely satisfying and we hope it will make a positive contribution to the lives of the students living there.
