Robert Browning School was part of a batch of education regeneration projects that WWA undertook across Southwark with Morgan Sindall. It was a £3m remodelling scheme working in conjunction with Haverstock Architects to refurbish and extend the school from a 1.5 to a 2 form-entry school.

The scheme was undertaken in two phases. The first phase included the remodelling of the external play spaces and introduced new imaginative water and sound play for both early years and Key Stage 1. Raised planters were installed to provide play space separation and accessible grow beds for the school to work with. On the new third floor roof, WWA created a quiet learning space with seating, planters, and synthetic grass areas.

The second phase involved reworking the existing roof play space into a synthetic grass games court with new fencing and lighting. Construction of the new court could not exceed the loading of the original flagged surface. This meant working closely with the engineers and synthetic grass manufacturer to provide the correct system and effective solution.
