Rooftop Projects Complete
Our recent projects involving rooftop design work for Southwark Borough Council have now reached practical completion. The landscape schemes at four primary schools; Albion, Belham, Charles Dickens and Robert Browning, all involved the creation of exciting rooftop spaces for staff and students to enjoy.
All four projects were managed by Morgan Sindall. The schemes at Robert Browning, Albion and Belham had budgets of £6.5 million, £17 million and £10.3 million respectively and involved collaboration with architects Haverstock. Architects for the Charles Dickens Primary School project were Maccreanor Lavington and the budget was £3 million.
Each of the projects included the design of stimulating learning spaces and involved a mixture of paving and synthetic turf on top of podium construction. In addition, the scheme at Robert Browning Primary School required the design and installation of a rooftop multi-use games area. This posed an interesting design challenge as all new construction could not exceed the weight of elements previously existing on the roof.
At Wynne-Williams Associates we welcome new design challenges. Please get in contact if you wish to discuss a potential project.
