  • Wildlife garden to facilitate outdoor learning experiences.
  • Design includes habitat piles, pondlife containers and seating area for group discussion.
  • Planting scheme utilises pollinator species to promote biodiversity.

Our brief for this project was to create a wildlife garden to encourage outdoor learning for students at Dulwich Hamlet Junior School in South London. The successful scheme includes a wide range of pollinator planting species along with new fruit trees. Coupled with raised planting beds adopted by each year group, the garden allows students to experience nature’s productivity.

In addition, collections of habitat piles, pondlife viewing bowls and bug hotels provide opportunities for students to witness ongoing natural processes. These experiences can be consolidated and shared through discussion in the collective seating area specially designed for group learning.

We are delighted to see how the wildlife garden develops as staff and students continue to take ownership of the space.
